Dear Mr. Morneau:
\J
I understand that you are interested in the "Scheinman Arm". Enclosed is
a data sheet which gives some brief specifications on the Stanford Arm (originally
called the Scheinman Arm) and the model M.I.T. arm, also developed by myself. Both
arms are for sale.
The price for the model Stanford Arm is $16,000 for the
potentiometer version, or $17,500 for the version with optical encoders on
the first three (shoulder) joints, and potentiometer feedback on all the other joints.
This price includes the 6 degree of freedom arm, a parallel motion hand, a simple
manual controller, the power supply, the power amplifiers, and all the cables. Not
included is the computer interface, or the a/d and d/a converters or the encoder
decoding and counting electronics. These items are available from other
sources, or through VICARM, tailored to your particular computer.
The price of the model M.I.T. arm is $7,700 including the hand, power
supply, power amplifiers, and simple manual controller. It is not available
in an encoder version. The computer interface is not included.
Please call or write should you have any furthur questions.\.
